Ence Energía y Celulosa has been recognized as an ESG leader (which encompasses environmental, sustainable and good governance factors) of its sector in the world, according to the latest analysis by the Morningstar Sustainalytics agency, global leader in ESG research, ratings and data.
Specifically, the paper and energy group has once again obtained the highest total score in its sector in the world, 93 points out of 100. This result is three points higher than the previous year and places Ence 11 points above the company with the second best rating, according to the company.
The latest Sustainalytics analysis points to Ence as a leader in sustainability by virtue of its leadership in environmental and social issues, as well as its outstanding performance in terms of governance.
The ESG rating for Ence
The report also highlights “robust policies” in areas IS G key of the company, such as environmental protection, health and safety, human rights throughout the supply chain and the strength of Ence’s sustainability strategy.
In addition, it positively values the reduction achieved in water consumption per ton of cellulose produced in the company’s two biofactories (Navia and Pontevedra). All of this, adds Morningstar Sustainalytics, demonstrates the company’s effectiveness in terms of water management and, in general, its strength in managing the use of resources.
The document also points out that Ence has a very robust environmental policy and highlights the strength of Ence’s management in terms of decarbonization.
