At the start of their UK tour, Foo Fighters They have left us with our mouths open by playing live for the first time a song that they had not published or finished titled “Unconditional”. (via Loudwire)
The 24-song set was mostly made up of greatest hits and well-known Foo songs. There were no songs missing from any album, at least one from each one was played with the exception of ‘Sonic Highways’ from 2014. In addition to “Unconditional,” the band played a slow version of “My Hero” and Dave Grohl played “Under You” for the first time live alone and acoustic.
It was also curious that “Everlong” had to start playing – at the end of the concert – twice.because Grohl’s guitar broke down halfway through the song.
And what about “Unconditional”?
The truth is that, until now, we didn’t know “Unconditional”, but the song is not exactly good.
A representative for Foo Fighters tells Consequence of Sound that the song was “partially written and laid out during some studio sessions a year ago, but in the end it was left unfinished”.
“The band’s rediscovery of ‘Unconditional’ came in true spontaneous Foo Fighters style: The song came up in conversation during UK tour rehearsals, and all it took was one rehearsal. The decision was instantly made to share it with everyone in the same way: live“says the representative.
