In a session held today, the Legislature approved the legislator’s bill Hugo Ledesmaamong other legislators, to prohibit the circulation of blood-powered vehicles in Tucumán.

Asked about this, Ledesma said: “I am very happy about the sanction of this law. It is a great step forward in a fight that is much larger, which is the fight for rights and against violence and animal abuse. Personally, we have been working for a long time in the rescue of animals that have suffered greatly from this practice.”

Legislator Ledesma’s project proposes, among others, the replacement of vehicles, job retraining of users and awareness campaigns on animal care.

The ban will come into effect one year after the law is enacted, which will allow preparation and work with all sectors involved.

This law exempts the circulation of official vehicles of the security forces, and those of a historical or folkloric nature.

The initiative arrived at the venue after extensive discussion and joint treatment with other projects on the subject from various political blocks, in the Environment and Security commissions.
