An unusual event occurred in November 2022 at the El Dorado airport in Bogotá. An official from Migration Colombia, the entity responsible for monitoring and carrying out immigration control, had an altercation with a traveler arriving in the city. Everything was recorded and in the images you could see how the man hit a passenger with his leg and then tried to attack the person who was recording.
The investigation established that Sánchez Cárdenas abused his position and He physically attacked the Colombian citizen who asked him for guidance to access the biometric record and carry out your immigration process to enter the country. The incident occurred on November 24, 2022.
In the video you could see how a group of travelers were surprised by the official’s attitude; some of his colleagues even approached to try to calm the situation.

Given this unfortunate event, Migración Colombia issued a message through its official account. x in which he “rejects the official’s behavior that is not permitted under any circumstances” and added that at that moment “the investigation begins in accordance with the Disciplinary Law.”
Following the investigation by the Public Ministry, the body determined that the official violated his duty to treat people with respect, unjustifiably violating the duties assigned as a public servant. This behavior affected the values and principles of the public service and hindered the achievement of the State’s goals.
The foul committed by Sánchez Cárdenas was classified as very serious and as fraudulent. The appeal proceeds against this decision before the Ordinary Disciplinary Judgment Chamber.
Furthermore, the Delegate Prosecutor’s Office for Judgment 3 clarified that The time that Sánchez Cárdenas served under provisional suspension, decreed as a precautionary measure, will be taken into account for compliance with the term of the general disqualification sanction imposed.
