To promote voluntary blood donation and carry out joint collections, the Ministry of Health of Entre Ríoshe Institute of Financial Assistance for Social Action and the Entre Ríos Provincial Autárquico Insurance Institute Foundation they renewed a Collaboration agreement.

Under the motto «Donating blood unites us +» and with the purpose of strengthen the Provincial Blood Networkthe Minister of Health, Guillermo Grieve, together with the heads of Iafas, Diego Hernán Martínez Dome and of Iapser, Gonzalo García, agreed jointly perform monthly external blood collectionswithin the framework of the Provincial Hemotherapy Program and the Social Responsibility Program developed by the entities.

It’s about the renewal of an agreement that allows blood collections to be carried out, but also to implement talks and training on blood donation and CPR -among other topics-, and various medical practices in a mobile unit, with mammography service, gynecological check-ups, well-child check-ups, ophthalmological check-ups, among others.

Regular blood donations are essential to have availability when needed“said Minister Grieve in relation to this activity that strengthens promotion and awareness strategies on voluntary donation, a topic of great health and social interest.

The agreement establishes that since every person may need this resource at some point in their life, the activities appeal to obtaining blood through collections, but also to social responsibility. The entities together with the Ministry of Health reinforce the strategy that they have been developing in the provincial territory, which carried out 115 collections from May 2022 to December 2023.

In this sense, it was reported that the program’s mobile unit toured 14,500 kilometersvisiting 43 citieswhere the blood donation from 2,636 volunteers during the 19 months of activity.

It is worth mentioning that both Iafas and the Iapser Foundation have been recognized as “Institutions and Companies Friendly to Blood Donation”, by the Directorate of Blood and Hemoderivatives of the Ministry of Health of the Nation, for the work carried out in favor of donation. , respecting the procedures based on the regulations.

Agreement, which will last for one yearfurther establishes that The collections will be carried out under coordination with the Provincial Hemotherapy Programin the different Entre Ríos locations, according to the needs and criteria of the ministerial program and logistical availability.

For these purposes, in-hospital blood banks, transfusion units with or without extraction stations existing in the hospitals of the Provincial Blood Network with which the Provincial Program maintains blood component exchange systems, will be made available.
