Of the six months that have passed in 2024, workers in the State Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Livestock of the State of San Luis Potosí (CEFPP) have only received five fortnights, a situation that has forced them to carry out their work without pay and with their own resources.

A member of the CEFPP revealed that the situation of non-payment that they reported last April has continued until now. 11th of Juneand the State Goverment He has only paid them what corresponds to two and a half months of work.

The worker commented that the inspection programs that are responsible for ensuring the health of the animals that enter the state have been carried out irregularly, because the Secretariat of Agricultural Development and Hydraulic Resources (Sedarh) is still lacking in paying workers and also in providing resources to the programs.

“The resources do not arrive on time and I do not know what is happening administratively. Right now we are already in the month of June and they have only paid us two and a half months, but it was not general for all the Committee staff, but only for those of us who are in the mobilization area, the doctors or engineers who are in the campaigns. of tuberculosis, of brucellosis, of bovine paralytic rabies, since they still do not perceive those two and a half months,” he stated.

Derived from this situation of lack of resources, some of the workers chose to close the Internal Verification Points (PVI) to avoid spending more of their own money, but those who initiated these work stoppages ultimately returned to their jobs under threat of losing their jobs and not receiving payment for the time already worked.

According to the CEFPP member, the workers at these points have had to use their own resources to move in the territory they cover and pay the balance of the equipment they use to send information about their work.

“They want us to do all the work, but with our resources. “That’s what I mean by saying that we are working with the financing of the same employees,” he added.

He also revealed that, due to the lack of payments, the Government granted them a package of extraordinary resources, but it was not to solve the non-payments, but rather it was a type of loan, that is, it is money that they will have to return.

Although this is a situation that the committee workers have been dealing with since January, the worker assured that they have not been given a clear explanation about the delay in the appeal, in addition to the fact that the state authority has limited itself to telling them that “work is being done.” ” in getting the money.

Given the situation of job insecurity suffered by more than 140 workers of the committee, explained that putting the work of these PVI’s and the verification programs at risk could have serious consequences for the economy and the state’s livestock sector.

“The state must maintain a high health status so that the United States or other states do not reject your merchandise, and if you lose that status, you lose competitiveness compared to other entities.”
