The Ministry of Health spoke out on the afternoon of this Tuesday, June 11, regarding the attempted kidnapping that occurred on Saturday, June 8, in the vicinity of Parque de la 93, north of the city.

Through a statement, the entity clarified that the vehicle used in the crime, an ambulance with license plate SLG904, was not operating at the time of the incident. According to reports since May 2, the ambulance was not in service.

“During the visit carried out, the Inspection, Surveillance and Control Commission (IVC) collected information about the vehicle in question and, among other aspects, it was found that between May 2 and June 8, 2024, the vehicle was reported not operational for different reasons, including mechanical failures or incomplete crew,” the secretariat detailed.

He added that the documents collected in the first investigation will be sent to the Attorney General’s Office to determine how a health service vehicle came into the hands of criminals.

The authorities will continue investigating the case to clarify the events that occurred on June 8, where the details of how an ambulance was used in an attempted kidnapping are still unknown. More details about the incident are expected to be released in the coming days.
