“Miguel y Chino en Banda”, the show by the comic duo formed by Miguel del Sel and Chino Vopato, which was already presented at Carlos Paz, arrives in San Juan next Saturday, June 29 at Hugo Espectáculos at 11 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.vivaticket.com.ar and have a value ranging from $22,000 to $28,000 (plus service charge).
Miguel Del Sel spoke with HUARPE DIARY and previewed what is coming in his show in the province.
An unparalleled display
Miguel was part of the Midachi trio, now together with Chino Volpato (also a former member of the trio), they return to the stage and bring a tradition of humor. As great exponents of the variety show, where imitations, sketches, music and an unparalleled scenic display were part of the identity of an era. The ’90s and the 2000s, put on stage, arrive in the province of San Juan.
Del Sel told HUARPE DIARY that “This show has the participation of 11 people on stage, including five actors and six musicians. The staging is impressive, with a giant screen and a sound that emulates that of a rock band. Among the featured artists is Idaña Douman, a Panamanian singer who impresses with her voice, and Saúl Douman, a talented magician from Rosario who adds a touch of magic and fun to the show. Mauricio Hortak, well-known imitator who has participated in Marcelo Tinelli’s program.”
“The public receives us in a very affectionate way, the people with us are spectacular. I think there is recognition of my 43-year career. With El Chino we are one of the greatest comedians touring the country today. Not all the casts go out to tour the country and bringing the show to each city requires a great effort, because we are 24 people traveling. You have to rent hotels, buses and do very important logistics. I think there is also gratitude from the public that you bring the show to them, that they don’t have to go to Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires or Carlos Paz,” he added to the comedian.
In addition to magic and music, the show has visuals and emotional moments such as Charly García singing with Mercedes Sosa or greetings from stars like Messi and Susana Giménez.
Institutions of humor
After more than 40 years in the field, both are institutions in the genre. So the loyal public joins in each presentation, about this Del Sel said:
“There is a mix in each stall, where many older people go. A person who came to see us when he was 30 years old, with his wife, is 70 today and the one who was 40 years old is 80 today. There were days when we had 94-year-old grandmothers. On top of that, I take it with humor and tell Chino – how old people are here. Then they wait for you at the exit and tell you, I saw them in Mar del Plata 38 years ago and that’s where you fall because many grown people are going to see us with their children, with their grandchildren. This mix is great, an audience,” he added.
With this he closed: “I wouldn’t be acting, I had knee surgery two and a half years ago, and I told myself – if my knee doesn’t get better, I won’t act anymore. I’m also acting because I’m physically well, my knee responds completely naturally and I’m happy too, otherwise I wouldn’t want to go on stage to be pitiful. Since we are all very well, we have three companions on stage, so we go out to enjoy. I’m telling you, the mood has not changed for us,” he concluded.
