The Forecast and Warning Service Office of the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam) reported that during this weekend – which is celebrated as Father’s Day in the country – the transit of two tropical waves is expected, which would generate rains of varying intensity.

Leidy Rodríguez, meteorologist at Ideam, indicated that these systems will generate rain in the Caribbean and Pacific regionsincluding maritime and oceanic areas, as well as in some sectors of the Orinoquia and Colombian Amazon.

This Saturday, for example, there is a significant increase in cloudiness and the intensity of rain, especially in the Orinoquia, Pacific and Caribbean regionsincluding the maritime zone in the latter.

La Guajira, Magdalena, Cesar, Córdoba, Bolívar, Sucre, Chocó, Antioquia, Santander, Norte de Santander, BoyacáCundinamarca, Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío, Meta, Vichada, Guainía, Vaupés, Guaviare, Caquetá and Amazonas are the departments where higher intensity rainfall is expected to be recorded, accompanied by electrical activity.

On Sunday, for its part, rains with electrical shocks will persist in large areas of the Orinoquia and Amazonia regions, as well as in specific sectors of the Caribbean and Andean region.

For that day, the heaviest rains are expected in sectors of La Guajira, Magdalena, Atlántico, Cesar, Bolívar, CaucaNariño, Antioquia, Santander, Norte de Santander, Cundinamarca and Boyacá, among others.
