Call to the community: prevention and control of the Aedes aegypti mosquito

The Ministry of Health calls on the community to join in prevention actions, eliminating mosquito breeding sites in their homes and following the recommendations of the health authorities.

These coordinated actions are essential to interrupt the life cycle of the Aedes aegypti mosquito in all its stages: eggs, larvae and pupae. The implementation of fumigation with heavy machinery allows for a broader and more uniform application of the insecticide. This strategy allows us to prioritize the areas with the highest incidence of cases, thus optimizing our vector control efforts in the most affected areas of the city.

Intensive fumigation covers seven strategic communes of Cali

Fumigation activities with heavy machinery will be carried out in the following communes of Cali during the week of June 17 to 22, 2024: 1, 3, 6, 7, 12, 14 and 17. This distribution covers various areas of the city, ensuring broad coverage in the vector control of dengue.
