- During this week’s rains, emergencies were reported in various parts of the region to which the health company did not respond.
The regional councilor of Valparaíso, Nataly Campusano Díaz, and her colleague Manuel Lanas Quiñones, have sent a letter to the Superintendence of Health Services of Valparaíso, denouncing the lack of response of the health company ESVAL to critical problems reported by the population during the system rain frontal in the region.
The complaint focuses on the lack of preventive actions by ESVAL, which has generated problems in several sectors of the region, including sinkholes in public roads and sewage overflows in homes.
According to the letter, the Cores express that “it is known that during the month of June our region would face a frontal system with intense rains, where it can be assumed that by not carrying out preventive actions the difficulties would worsen. That is why in various places in the territory we identified that there was no preventive action, which can be assumed to be negligence for what has already been mentioned.

– Sinkhole in Población Puerto Montt, upper part of Forestal, Viña del Mar
– Sinkhole in Calle las Lilas, Enrique Tornero Town, Playa Ancha
– Sinkhole in Parque Pajonal, Cerro Merced, Valparaíso
– Sinkhole on Calle Quebrada Cantera, Cerro Placeres, Valparaíso
– Covered camera on Final Calle 1° Mayo, Cerro Placeres, Valparaíso
– Rock and earth slide due to ESVAL canyon overflow in Escala el Peumo, Cerro Esperanza
– Chamber overflow at Avenida Matta 311, Cerro Placeres, Valparaíso
– Overflow of sewage that entered homes in Pasaje el Quisco n°26, Las Palmas, Cerro Placeres, Valparaíso
The regional councilors have requested that both preventive actions not carried out and the prompt improvement of the affected spaces be monitored to regularize the lives of the inhabitants of the affected sectors.
