Due to the cold, five departments of Entre Ríos are on alert and the minimum temperature will fall to 4°C in Concordia

The National Meteorological Service maintains an alert for extreme temperatures for the Entre Ríos departments of Paraná, La Paz, Diamante, Villaguay and Nogoyá. According to the alert, low temperatures will have an “emild to moderate effect on health.

For this reason, the national entity warned that these low temperatures “can be dangerous, especially for risk groups, such as children and people over 65 years of age, with chronic diseases.”

Although these alerts do not apply to the Concordia department, the minimum temperatures for the next few days in our city will be low, dropping to 4°C for this Wednesday. At the same time, a new cold wave will arrive over the weekend that will drop temperatures to below zero in some areas of the province.

RECOMMENDATIONS FACING AN INTENSE COLD EVENT

The recommendations for this type of events are indicated by the Ministry of Health. Some of them are reviewed below and it is suggested that you refer to the official information:

Avoid exposing yourself to the cold outdoors for a long time. When going out, dress warmly with many layers of light clothing.

– Generate more body heat through movement (walking, getting up and sitting down, moving your limbs, etc.).

– Keep the house safely heated.

– Avoid sudden changes in temperature, as they can cause respiratory system diseases.

– Drink plenty of fluids and avoid alcoholic beverages.

– If you are affected by the cold, do not self-medicate, consult a doctor or go to the nearest health center.

– If you have prescribed medication, keep the action plan updated.

– Do not smoke in closed environments.

– Pay special attention to boys and girls, the elderly and those with chronic illnesses.
