The opening of the Colchane Daily Stay Center marked a day in which a total of five works financed through the Regional Fund for Local Initiative, FRIL, were inaugurated. Infrastructure investment projects executed directly by the Municipality of Colchane under the technical recommendation of the Regional Government of Tarapacá and the approval of 760 million 896 thousand 134 pesos from the Regional Council chaired by Governor José Miguel Carvajal.

“The emotion of older people and representatives of clubs or neighborhood associations such as Justiniano de Cotasaya or Santiago Colchane is transmitted through their eyes. And that same joy of being able to have this center that will be able to receive 174 men and 134 women, is what runs through all of us who promote this type of initiatives that translate into works linked to social and territorial well-being,” said the maxim. regional authority, who gave further references to the infrastructure that has hospital elements for the greater comfort of its beneficiaries.

In this regard, Carvajal explained that the new center, valued at $135,837,660, has a room equipped for staff and three other spacious rooms with a bathroom and universal accessibility, as well as a kitchen, dining room and recreational areas built to benefit 308 elderly people from rural areas.

“Unfortunately, many of them are left alone because the new generations decide to emigrate to the city. And, on many occasions, that loneliness also affects their health, so being able to have spaces to recreate, talk and communicate is a source of pride and satisfaction,” said the governor, who congratulated Mayor Javier García, the officials of the Municipality of Colchane and those who contributed to materialize the collaborative work.
