Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots have enormous potential, but it’s up to us to make the most of them. If we do not use the proper indications These tools can end up offering us very different answers than what we expected. And this can be a problem in the workplace.

Over time we have learned that if we want to obtain the best results in a search engine like Google we must use a certain combination of words. Now, little by little, we are learning to converse with AI. This skill is so necessary that the role of “prompt engineer” has appeared on the scene.

Microsoft wants us all to be “prompt engineers”

It is known as “Prompt engineering” which allows you to find the appropriate textual indications to interact with AI models and obtain accurate results. Microsoft wants to make things much simpler with Copilot. Instead of starting from scratch to create a prompt, the chatbot will guide us to obtain better instructions.

When we start writing a message in the chatbot, it will offer us to complete it automatically. This is a more powerful autocomplete feature than the one currently available when we press the tab key. In this case, Copilot for Office 365 will analyze the context to suggest how to continue the message.

The tool will also debut a function called “Rewrite”. It seeks to enable us to obtain more elaborate indications from a basic message. Additionally, Copilot will allow system administrators to create specific suggested messages for their work teams through Copilot Lab.

Microsoft continues to work to improve its artificial intelligence tools in the midst of a race in which other companies like Google also seek to stand out. All of these features will be available “in the coming months” in Copilot for Office 365.
