Verizon Launches ‘MyHome’ Plan with Discounted Streaming and YouTube TV Option for Bundled Pay TV Service

Verizon is launching myHome, a new offer for home Internet customers that allows them to choose discounted streaming packages and select YouTube TV as their pay TV provider.

The arrival of the new plan is accompanied by the launch of a new consumer plan, Verizon Access, and a new smartphone management setup for Verizon Business. The telecom giant is also updating its branding and logo as it brings new options to the market.

Verizon’s 67 million current home Internet customers, or new ones who sign up, will have the option to create a personalized entertainment experience through myHome. Customers will choose “content benefits,” the company said, among several streaming services for $10 a month. Included options include Netflix and Max (with ads), Disney Bundle (including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+), YouTube Premium, and Walmart+ membership with a Paramount+ subscription included. (Apple One and Apple Music Family are coming later this summer.)

The price is guaranteed for up to 4 years, the company noted.

One “perk” available through myHome is the option to get pay TV service from YouTube TV or Verizon Fios. YouTube TV, launched in 2017, has become one of the leading pay TV operators in the US, with more than 8 million subscribers. NFL Sunday Ticket recently moved from its former home on DirecTV to YouTube TV and executives at YouTube and parent company Alphabet have credited the NFL for increasing subscriber levels.

“Verizon is one of the most recognized brands. By listening to our customers, we continue to significantly evolve our offerings and brand promise of connecting people when it matters most on our trusted network,” said Verizon Chairman and CEO Hans Vestberg. “We never stop driving the industry forward and delivering more value to all our customers. “This next chapter is a continuation of our journey of service and innovation.”

The rise of streaming service bundles in many ways began when telecommunications operators Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile offered service bundles at discounted rates.

“Internet at home frustrates customers and home entertainment can be overwhelming. With myHome, they now have the transparency and price assurance they deserve on reliable internet and an easy way to choose the best entertainment options with exclusive savings,” said Sowmyanarayan Sampath, CEO of Verizon Consumer. “MyHome eliminates complexity – fully customize your subscriptions and connected home needs, all in one place to fit your lifestyle, without having to carry features or content you don’t need.”
