Last week, experts reported that after a first analysis it had been established that it was a female genetic profile and of ancient date. However, This profile did not match any of those already in the provincial registry.
At the moment, The area has 84,500 profiles. With this information, the experts have already obtained 990 matches, thus being able to provide relevant evidence in some 4,000 criminal cases that the provincial justice system has.
Howeverthe case investigated by prosecutor Carlos Torres is awaiting a more in-depth report about the remains found.
After the first analysis mentioned, The Fingerprint Registry is carrying out a more exhaustive examination. In it, the detectives take a sample of the bones and They try to obtain a genetic pattern, that is, DNA.
When researchers have that DNA they will be able to identify the family and based on that information, a search will begin in that environment to confirm the identity.
In that sense, It will be possible to establish whether the death was the result of a crime or not.. The researchers highlighted that one of the hypotheses is that the skull has been used for some type of study (for example, a medical student) and then thrown away.
The researchers admit that the studies in search of a genetic pattern are extensive, so the results would only arrive in a few months.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Registry of Genetic Fingerprints requested that All those who wish to voluntarily provide a genetic sample to compare with the skull, may do so from Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the registry headquarters, in Belgrano and Virgen de Cuyo de Ciudad.
So far, no person has come forward for this purpose.confirmed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
