The Government of the Atlantic and the Table Lgbtiq+ from Barranquilla and the Atlantic They presented the agenda with which the community celebrates Diversity Month in the department.

The central event will be the XIV Pride March, which will take place on June 30 under the slogan “Right to equality with public policies now.”
The concentration will begin at 2 in the afternoon at the Luis Carlos Galán park and will culminate in the Plaza de la Pazwhere a cultural program will be carried out by 150 artists and actors from the Lgbtiq+ community.
Heriberto Mejía, spokesperson for the coordination of the Lgbtiq+ Roundtable of Barranquilla and Atlántico, explained that this year’s objective is to be able to draw the attention of territorial entities for the prompt consolidation of Public Policies in the district of Barranquilla, and the greatest part of the municipalities of the department.

“The march draws attention to the municipalities, to our territories so that they also design and execute local public policies locally.. We are, outside of carnival, one of the largest mobilizations, and it is a source of pride, because we not only bring together the Lgbtiq+ population, but also people allied to the issue of defending human rights. We are all going to demand public policies from territorial entities that have not yet included affirmative actions towards the LGBTI population in their development plans,” said Heriberto Mejía.
Government of Atlántico will accompany the community on the ‘Diversity Route’ through the municipalities of the department.

“The Government of Atlántico will accompany, not only the march on June 30, but all the activities that will be carried out in commemoration of the community month. We will be visiting municipality by municipality, sector by sector, to socialize the public policy of the Lgbti population, in our department,” said Manuel Díaz, advisor for Coexistence of the Government of Atlántico.
Likewise, he indicated that “together with the municipal mayors, we will promote the draft municipal agreement so that these advisory councils are developed, created and implemented in each of the territories of our department.”
A series of awareness-raising, recreation, entertainment, cultural and sports events are part of the agenda in the month of diversity that will be celebrated starting this Friday in all the municipalities of the Atlantic.
