The strategy led by the Ministry of Transportation, the National Road Safety Agency and the Superintendency of Transportation seeks to avoid road accidents.
Tunja, June 13, 2024. (UACP). With the purpose of avoiding road accidents during the mid-year holiday season, the Boyacá Traffic Institute (ITBOY) joins the prevention and awareness day for road safety.
According to the manager of ITBOY, Nidia Carolina Puentes Aguilar, the activity led by the Ministry of Transportation, the National Road Safety Agency and the Superintendency of Transportation will take place this Friday, June 14, at the Albarracín toll, entering Boyacá, on the border with Cundinamarca, starting at 9:00 in the morning.
In this way and following the guidelines of joint circular June 028, 2024, issued by the Ministry of Transportation, educational operations will be carried out to raise awareness among travelers entering the department.
“Recommendations will be made to them for compliance with traffic and transportation regulations regarding road safety, with a safe system approach, aimed at preventing road accidents,” said the official.
He added that all these actions are carried out in coordination with the Police Traffic and Transportation Directorate.
“The only thing we are looking for is to reduce the road accident rates in the department,” stressed Puentes Aguilar.
