Strategic Visit Strengthening Alliances in the Health Sector and Medical Education

The governor of Casanare, César Ortiz Zorro, together with the secretary of health, Tatiana Chávez Duque, the president of the Departmental Assembly, Heider Silva, and the manager of the Orinoquía Regional Hospital, Ángel Andrés Ávila, carried out a strategic visit to the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga and to two prominent health institutions in the region: the Foscal Clinic of Bucaramanga and the Foscal Supram Clinic of Bucaramanga.

The main objective of this visit was to strengthen alliances between the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga and one of the best clinics in all of Latin America. This collaboration seeks to enhance education in the health sector in the Department of Casanare and improve the medical care provided to patients through the Orinoquia Regional Hospital.

During the visit, various forms of cooperation and joint strategies were explored that will benefit both the educational community and the patients of the department. The following key objectives were established:

Strengthen Educational Alliances: The aim is to establish academic collaboration programs that allow students of medicine and other areas of health to access quality training and practices at institutions of high reputation.

Improve Medical Care: New techniques and technologies will be implemented at the Orinoquia Regional Hospital to improve the medical care available to the population of Casanare.

Cooperation and Joint Strategies: Cooperation strategies will be developed that allow for an effective integration of resources and knowledge between the institutions visited and the local health system.
