The Provincial Health Institute of Salta (IPS) today presented the IPS Electronic Prescription. Is about a modern system that makes it easier for members to access medications and treatments more efficiently and allows social work providers to generate prescriptions more efficiently.

The presentation event took place at the América Cultural Center and was headed by Vice Governor Antonio Marocco along with the president of the provincial social work, Gladis Sánchez.

The president of the IPS explained that the Electronic Prescription allows professionals providing social work to generate prescriptions electronicallycomplying with current legislation as well as safety regulations and standards.

“This technological advance seeks to facilitate the acquisition of medications, improve safety and optimize medical processes,” Sánchez highlighted, while stating that this integration “ensures effective monitoring of the treatment indicated to the patient, from prescription to dispensing, complying with traceability standards, which provides greater transparency to the system.”

Now members can receive their electronic prescriptions directly through their mobile devices, on their digital credential, eliminating the paper prescription. This means greater convenience, reduced prescription errors and shorter wait times at pharmacies.

Additionally, the process is secure and confidential, ensuring that medical information is protected at all times.

For medical and dental professionals, The electronic prescription simplifies the issuance of prescriptions, allowing quick access to the member’s data in the system and to the IPS formulary.

The system also helps reduce errors in the prescription and in the interpretation of the professional’s handwriting, thus improving the efficiency of consultations.

For pharmacies, access to electronic prescriptions facilitates the dispensing of medicationsensuring that patients receive their treatments in a timely and accurate manner at any pharmacy in the province.
