The Provincial Executive of Santa Cruz arranged the restriction Preventive traffic control for all types of vehicles in various sections of the national and provincial routes due to the presence of ice, snow and low temperatures.
The measure applies from 8:00 p.m. on June 20 to 9:00 a.m. on June 21. The authorization of the affected sections will be carried out according to the results of the monitoring carried out by the Crisis Prevention Committee.
The route sections affected by this provision are the following:
- National Route N°3: From Güer Aike to Comandante Luis Piedra Buena.
- National Route N°40: Sectors that cover from La Esperanza to Cuenca Carbonifera, including El Calafate, Tres Lagos and El Chaltén.
- Provincial Route N°43: From Los Antiguos to Pico Truncado.
The authorities highlighted that road machines are working intensively in the affected areas and ask drivers to respect the instructions of security personnel.
The evaluation and possible authorization of the routes will be carried out on Friday the 21st, at 9:00 a.m., depending on weather conditions and the state of the roads.
