The Secretariat of Social and Political Development, through the Sexual Diversity program, held a health day in Parque La Libertad. During this decentralization, psychosocial counseling, general medical care, and rapid HIV testing were offered to the sexually diverse population.

“For us it is very important to guarantee the health of people from diverse communities. These actions demonstrate our commitment to guaranteeing their rights,” said Víctor Cano, program coordinator.

The event included the participation of the ESE Salud Pereira Mobile Unit, which provided advice on family planning, oral hygiene, dentistry and pathology consultation for the promotion and maintenance of health.

“It is important to make a timely diagnosis of diseases such as HIV to channel and initiate the corresponding treatment, whether through the EPS or other means. We carry out tests on key populations, such as sex workers,” said Sandra Casañas, coordinator of the Project. ENTerritory HIV.

Likewise, Diana Carolina Rodas, nurse leader of the Sexual and Reproductive Health program at ESE Salud Pereira, expressed that “the needs of this population are not only physical, but also mental.
