More than 70 young people participated in a day of scientific dissemination on neuroscience in the Eastern Educational Park

The Municipality of Córdoba, through the Ministry of Education, together with the Faculty of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences of the National University of Córdoba, held a scientific dissemination day on neuroscience.

The day, which took place in the East Educational Park, included more than 70 students from IPEM 184 Mariano Fragueiro and IPETyM 133 Florencio Escardó.

During the day, an interactive exhibition was held with different stands that featured memory card games, recreational activities about the perception of our senses and exhibitions of human and animal brains.

At the CREA Municipal Tecnoteca, young people experimented with the use of Artificial Intelligence and a neuroscience laboratory was recreated with an installation to play at being scientists.

At the end of the day, the talk “What are neurosciences for?” given by the neuroscientist Franco Mir, in which he delved into the importance of knowing, studying and researching in the field of neuroscience, about the brain and its functions.

This is the “One brain at a time” project, which aims to promote the scientific vocations of young students from secondary schools in the city and disseminate the knowledge produced in research and dissemination teams at public universities.

“These learnings are valuable and relevant to understand ourselves and better understand the world in which we live, from a perspective that encourages scientific literacy”said the Secretary of Education, Alicia La Terza.

For her part, the Undersecretary of Social, Scientific and Technological Education Eugenia Rotondi, expressed: “We celebrate this initiative that promotes innovative activities to explain the functioning of the brain and strengthen the link between municipal educational institutions with the universities of our city”.
