A successful day of exchange of experiences and community cultural work took place in Bahía Murta, where cultural agents from the communes of Río Ibáñez, Chile Chico, Cochrane, Tortel and O’Higgins arrived to be protagonists of the Territorial Meeting with Southern Identity, organized by the Department of Citizenship of the Seremi de Culturas Aysén, through the Strengthening of Regional Cultural Identity (FICR) and Red Cultura programs.

It all began with the arrival of the communal delegations, made up of artists, cultural managers, artisans, musicians, creators, all representatives of the Regional Cultural Activation Network and the Cultural Agents tables of southern Aysen.

The Territorial Encounters with Identity seek to give continuity to the processes of listening and dialogue that have been established in the territory, based on sustained work to strengthen community cultural action.

Felipe Quiroz, minister of Culturas Aysén, explained that “as in previous meetings, we have had the opportunity not only to talk at length and draw conclusions about the work we are carrying out in the territories, but also to install training processes and provide management tools. in areas required by the artistic community. We believe that our role as cultural institutions must be oriented towards installing capacities so that the communities themselves are the spokespersons for their territory. Our fundamental axis as a Government has been to be promoters of cultural rights, because in this way we are advancing towards greater cultural democracy.”

About holding these meetings in different places each time, the artisan from Puerto Ibáñez, Eva Carrillo, said that “it is quite important because they are totally different places from each locality, the possibility of being able to approach the Regional Culture office is very difficult, Because of the connections, then, that today we can meet in different places in our region is very important. I think it’s great because before everything was done in Coyhaique but, thank God, they have been able to go out to the territory.”

Scarlet Verdugo, in charge of Culture at Tortel, thinks that “despite all the distance, being isolated, there is something that brings us all together and that is culture. Something is happening in every place and that’s the great thing, the human warmth is catching on everywhere.”

From O’Higgins, the person in charge of Culture of the commune and payador, Luciano Auad, joined: “Many times months or even years pass without people leaving their town, therefore, it is very important to generate these links, these networks , and also connect with the updating of knowledge.

Franco Mansilla is dedicated to photography in Puerto Guadal and states that “this serves to meet more creative people who are doing some creative process or are joining the culture and generating ties to continue over time creating a symbiosis so that everything converge in creation. “Also being part of the community, showing the heritage and art of each town.”

At the close of the Territorial Meeting with Southern Identity, a craft and folklore exhibition was held, together with the Barría Brothers, Buena Yunta and Codigo de Barra. In addition, the results of the Performing Arts Artistic Residency carried out by the actress Bárbara Medina together with the Murtina community were shown: “I am very happy, especially because this was something of some ideas and sparks out there, it was put together practically by itself , and people were adding their ideas, their proposals, their characters. They appeared alone within the entire process that occurred. So it is a very community job. For this reason, it is important to see what is being done here from other places.”

Regarding the development of these processes with the communities, Bárbara suggests “seeing what the communities have to offer. Don’t come with a preconceived idea; “See what we can contribute with what already exists in each place.”

Next week a new Territorial Meeting with Identity will bring together the 5 communes of northern Aysen in Raúl Marín Balmaceda: Aysén, Coyhaique, Lago Verde, Cisnes and Guaitecas, to develop a complete program of dialogue and training activities.
