An emergency occurred in the town of Apure, located in the municipality of Plato Magdalena, after the overflowing of a ravine and a stream that left dozens of homes under water and devastated crops of corn, beans, cassava, banana, among others. others.

There are approximately two hundred houses that have water up to the roof due to the strong current that runs through the center of the town of Apure.

In the midst of crying, one of the inhabitants of the town narrated what happened after the flood, “At this moment we have lost everything here in Apure, We are looking for the highest parts of the town to be able to save ourselves.at this time we call on the risk management office, the municipal Mayor’s Office, the Government and the relief agencies so that they can please reach out to us, because we are under a strong flood at this moment.”

He added that, “Even the church was flooded, neighbors sought refuge in their homes “They managed to save themselves,” the man said through tears.

According to information provided by the residents of the township, Nearly 200 homes were damaged and more than 1,500 people were affected.

In dialogue with The RCN FMthe director of the Magdalena sectional civil defense, Colonel Karlotz Omaña García assured that “The emergency was caused by the sudden rise of the ravine that exceeded the level of the road, which was above the body of water, which caused the overflow and subsequently the flooding of a sector of pastures, crops and also a part of the urban area of ​​the township.”
