Cali Mayor’s Office declares a health emergency due to the spread of dengue

The Mayor’s Office of Cali declared this Tuesday – June 11 – a health emergency due to the advance of dengue. The authorities confirmed that, so far this year, four people have died and more than 20,000 infections have been reported.

Seeing the complex situation, the administration of the capital of Valle del Cauca has announced that fumigation will continue this Tuesday in the different neighborhoods of the city to face this emergency.

These are the neighborhoods in which fumigation was and will be fumigated this Tuesday, June 11

  • Floralia Citadel: From 4:30 am to 6:30 am
  • San Luis: From 4:30 am to 6:30 am
  • Calicanto – Lili Valley: From 4:30 am to 6:30 am
  • El Paraíso: From 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

For his part, Alejando Eder, mayor of the city, indicated that his administration will not lower its guard and will intensify actions to control dengue.

“From our Mayor’s Office, we are not going to let our guard down! For this reason, we continue to intensify actions and take preventive measures to clip the wings of dengue in Cali in the face of the massive events that will take place in the second semester. Our task as an Administration is to protect the health and lives of the people of Cali,” explained the mayor of Cali, Alejandro Eder.

Likewise, the Mayor’s Office assured that the collaboration of citizens will be essential for the success of the preventive actions carried out by the authorities.

These are some of the recommendations made by the Mayor’s Office

  • Frequently change the water in animal waterers and vases.
  • Cover containers with water, eliminate garbage accumulated in patios and outdoor areas, dispose of tires or storage in closed places.
  • Use repellents on uncovered areas of the body
