Cubans took to social networks to denounce the discovery of the body of a young man who had been reported missing in mid-May in the province of Granma. According to these complaints, the remains were found by a girl who was playing in the area, and showed clear signs of violence.

Online information indicates that the young man’s name was Geyler Castillo Benítez, 18 years old, who was reported missing in the municipality of Campechuela since last May 15.

The Cuban influencer Niover Licea indicated that the young man’s body was found hidden inside a sewer, and was very damaged. According to his description, his head was missing, and his arms and legs had also been cut off.

The content creator said that, since he disappeared, the young man’s family asked for help to locate him, even offering a reward of 80,000 Cuban pesos (CUP) for anyone who found his whereabouts. The reward was announced after relatives noticed a certain lack of interest in the case on the part of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR).

According to Castillo Benítez’s loved ones, experts confirmed that the body was undoubtedly that of the young man, so they were now demanding that the person responsible for this murder receive what they deserve.

“If there is a law in the world, whoever has committed such an atrocity, let that law punish him, because no one has the right to take anyone’s life,” said a person close to the deceased.
