Religious leaders rejected the terrorist escalation in Jamundí.

Through a joint statement,The bishops of: Cali, Buenaventura, Cartago, Buga and Palmira, requested the armed groupswho carry out acts that they described as insane,that they become aware of the evil they do,because nothing justifies violence.

“We hear the cry of the population that feels overwhelmed and afraid and, in their name,We call on national, regional and local institutional authorities to join forcesand let us be creative, together with civil society, in order to find the solutions that will lead us to overcoming this disturbing and painful situation,” the statement said.

He documented also referred to COP16 in Calithe most important biodiversity summit in the world that will take place from October 21,as an event in which actions could be taken that change the course of the world for the betterand where the resilience and reconciliation of Colombians can be shown.

“…that allow us to regain confidence in the promising future that we have before us, because Valle del Cauca and Colombia have all the possibilitiesto overcome adversity and be able to show the world the inner strength that moves right heartsmotivated by the search for the common good and the full development of all,” the bishops stated.

Finally,The religious leaders of the Catholic Church, in the department, reiterated their commitment to continue accompanying all effortsto foster bridges of dialogue that make it possible to achieve the pacification of hearts and the silencing of weapons.
