A 26-year-old Cuban was fatally hit by a hit-and-run driver in Colón, municipality of Matanzas.
The incident occurred last Saturday, around 1:00 am, when a bus or a car ran over him and left him abandoned.
Yamila Hernandezthe victim’s wife, reported the incident on her Facebook wall and asked for help in locating the culprit.
“Left him like a lying dogdid not help him, he fled,” he said.
“That passed in the section of the paladar El Hawái, below the bushes, before entering the Reparto Libertad. I ask for justice, if he had not left, perhaps I would have saved him,” she explained.
Yamila remembered that her husband was only 26 years old and asked the Police to do their job and find the person who ended his life.
“Damn, what conscience, if he has a son, wife, damn, to leave him lying around as if he were a stone or an insignificant object,” he questioned.
In mid-February, a bus Yutong that covered the Manzanillo-Havana route was hit by a Kamaz brand truckwhose driver fled.
There were no injuries thanks to the skill of the bus driver who knew how to maneuver well when the truck invaded his lane. The incident occurred at the exit of Manzanillo, near the Las Novillas prison.
In January, a driver of a Transmetro bus fled in Havana after hitting a Moskvitch at the intersection of 31st and 54th streets.
“He hit this car and fled, leaving everyone in the place, without helping anyone. (The bus) is one of the red and white ones, soon we will know who the bus driver is who doesn’t have heart and was not able to stop,” said a witness.
A few days before, the Moskvitch driver fled after hitting a cyclist in Havanaon Porvenir and Tejar streets.
“He hit a biker and ran away. The man looked pretty bad, we helped him. Anyone who has news, please comment,” said a Facebook witness.
The victim was an elderly man between 60 and 70 years old, resident in the Arroyo Naranjo municipality, and was taken to the Miguel Enríquez hospital.
