Health played tricks on the vocalist Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) a few days ago, when he had to cancel his concert in Bucharest (Romania) for health reasons. A measure that is usually very unusual for him, as he later explained, also adding the following words: “I almost never cancel”.

Before going on stage at the festival Sweden Rock last June 6, Dickinson spoke for the P4 Live program on Swedish national radio, Sveriges Radioabout the viral infection that caused the cancellation of his show scheduled for June 3 at the Arenale Romane in Bucharest.

This is how it was explained specifically: “Now I am fine. I had a break for four or five days, so I had to start a five-day course of antibiotics and take some other things, bring down the inflammation in my vocal cords a little bit. I had a virus about two weeks ago and it was getting worse. I mean, everyone on the team has it now. It’s my gift to them”.

When asked if he usually cancels concerts, he responded this way: “No. The last show I canceled was 17 years ago. So this was weird. But it was one of those moments. I almost never cancel shows, it was obvious that this was serious. I was singing, and normally when I sing, I start to feel better, but I was getting worse. So I said, “I have to…” There is no time to rest on this tour. There was a show and some days around. I said, “I can take a five-day break, go see the doctor, do what he tells me, shut up for five days.” Just do all the things you usually do. I mean, I know how to take care of my voice, but when you get sick, it’s a whole other thing.”.

Fortunately, we are sure to find Bruce Dickinson completely recovered and eager to give everything in the next dates ahead until he visits our country next June.

Bruce Dickinson alone, precisely, will be one of the names that will be on the poster of Resurrection Fest for 2024 with Megadeth, Corey Taylor, Alice Cooper, Bring Me The Horizon, Avenged Sevenfold, Babymetal or Machine Head to the head. You can find entries at the official website of Resurrection Fest.
